The first CERT dedicated to microfinance in French-speaking West Africa

In Africa, the financial sector is the primary target of cyberattacks, ahead of telecommunications and government agencies. Microfinance banks are particularly vulnerable: they often combine legacy systems, under-trained staff, rapid digital growth, and vulnerable clients.
mFIN-CERT.tg was created to address this challenge. Operated by Cyber Defense Africa (CDA), the Operational arm of Togo’s National Cybersecurity Agency (ANCy), it is the first sector-specific CERT dedicated to microfinance sector in Africa. Its mission is to prevent, detect, and respond to cyberthreats targeting SFDs and MFIs in Togo.
